Students
- Our goal at The Outlet in ministry is to reach, teach, equip, and encourage this generation of students (grades 7 thru 12) who are lost, hurting, and searching for answers. We do this by showing and leading them to Jesus Christ. We desire to help students find and realize their need for a relationship with Jesus, while encouraging them to grow in that relationship.
- In our ministry we see each other as family and we love to worship as family. Worship is who we are, it's why we were created from the very beginning and our students realize the purpose and need for that worship. They encourage each other and hold one another accountable by standing on Hebrews 10:11-12.
- Our praise & worship band, "Vertical", does a tremendous job leading us in worship throughout the week. They understand that worship must be lifted vertically to the Savior and King of Kings, Jesus Christ, and not horizontal to the audience. This team is a combination of students who have many different unique talents and a common desire to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that enhances the way we worship.
- You may wonder what Haven is? Well, I'm glad you asked . . . Websters Dictionary says that a haven is a safe place. A place which offers favorable opportunities or conditions. Thats what we do once a month, we have Haven. This is where we go into a church members home (a safe place from the world) and we have a time of fellowship with each other, prayer for one another, share in a meal and just have some good ole FUN! Of course, we always have a devotion before we depart. Haven takes place on the first Sunday night of each month following the evening service.
- We take Acts 1:8 very seriously in our ministry, "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We understand that "It's not about us. . .It's about Jesus" and we are all missionaries on the mission field at all times, trying to fulfill the mission by living out Acts 20:24 which says: " However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." We accomplish this task by doing local missions at home, school, and in our community. Also, by serving the Lord thru the Southern Baptist North American and International Mission Boards year round.
- Throughout the year, we set time aside for spiritual renewal as a group, or family. This time allows the students to grow spiritually in their relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as closer as a "family". And often times, there are many first time decisions made to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Conferences, Retreats, and Camps are a necessary part of the student ministry.
