March 15, 2010

Dear Church Family,

This Sunday, March 21, 2010 is Covenant Giving Day at Sullivan Baptist Church! Each of us will have the opportunity to register our giving covenant for the new Worship and Child Care Facility. This is an extremely important time for Sullivan Baptist Church. What we do, collectively, in our covenants will determine the extent we can go in our building plans.

Enclosed you will find Covenant Commitment Cards for your entire family (youth, children, and adults) to use during a special “Chest of Joash” (2 Chronicles 24:4-13) service to be held during morning worship this week. Please keep in mind that this is a three-year faith giving covenant over and above the tithes and offerings you now give for ministry through the general budget.

The adult and youth cards are formatted with three sections to ensure complete confidentiality. The first section is used to reveal your total 3-year commitment. The middle section with personal information will affirm your prayerful intent to give over and above your regular giving. This section will be submitted separate from your monetary commitment. The final section is to be kept for your personal record. The back of each card has a giving level guide to aid in your prayerful consideration of your commitment. If you have already submitted the section revealing your 3-year commitment, then please remember to bring the personal information section on Sunday. We want everyone to participate in the “Chest of Joash” service even if you have made an earlier commitment. We will announce the church total three-year commitment on Sunday, March 28th.

Please keep in mind our Church goals as listed below:

Ground Breaking Goal – $1 million. Each member making a 3-year Faith Commitment.

Hallelujah Goal - $1.5 million. Each member making a 3-year Faith Commitment and an additional generous Firstfruits contribution on Easter Sunday.

Miracle Goal - $2.8 million. Each member making a 3-year Faith Commitment, an additional generous Firstfruits contribution on Easter Sunday, and a large gift-in-kind. This would be a miracle and will take a God-sized faith.

Please be present and prepared to offer your covenant in the worship service this Sunday. If it is absolutely impossible for you to attend, then please mail your card(s) to the church in the enclosed envelope. I am praying for a God-honoring miracle as we unite in this great and worthy cause.

God loves you, and I love you!

Rev. Jeff Strong
Pastor
